Sophie Jaff is the author of LOVE IS RED (HarperCollins, May 2015), which was favorably reviewed in the New York Times, and has since been published in several languages. Her second book, CROWN OF STARS (HarperCollins), was published in 2017. Her children’s book THE ADVENTURES OF LULA THE DISCONTENTED COW (Human & Rousseau) was published in 2005.
She is a Dramatist Guild Fellow and an alumna of the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.
Sophie was the book writer/lyricist for the children’s musical A SHELTER IN OUR CAR, which was subsequently published by Boosey & Hawkes. Other works include ERIKA’S WALL, NOT THAT WE’RE BITTER, EVERYTHING and STORY OF AN AFRICAN FARM, which won the Frederick Loewe Foundation Grant.
Sophie’s work has been performed at Symphony Space, Lincoln Center, The Duplex, The Gershwin, and Goodspeed Musicals. Her essays have been published in the Daily Beast, Bustle, and Bookstr.com.
